[메가경제=양대선 기자] AI sign language platform KL Cube is enhancing digital accessibility by providing its service to both public and private sectors.

Leveraging its AI sign language avatar platform ‘HandSignVerse’, the company turns voice and text messages into sign language videos which feature non-verbal elements including Korean sign language grammar, facial expressions and gestures.
With secured reference cases across major industries, including the public, financial, healthcare and transportation sectors, KL Cube is demonstrating the practicality of its AI sign language service, while increasing its accessibility across diverse touchpoints in daily life.
For instance, to provide financial product guidance and service information in sign language, the company has integrated its AI human-based sign language technology into KakaoBank. Moreover, this AI sign language service has been implemented on KORAIL kiosks and utilized to establish an AI sign language guidance and interpretation system at Seoul Medical Center.
On May, the company entered into an MOU with COEX to improve digital accessibility and expand inclusive services. The partnership aims to implement an AI sign language service for major informational content on the COEX website, enhancing the overall accessibility of exhibition and convention information.
Recently, KL Cube has been strengthening its technological competitive edge by showcasing ‘HandSign NOVA’, a real-time AI sign language translation service.
HandSign Nova is a service that translate users’ voice or text messages into sign language in real-time, generating sign language content without the need for additional video production. Its applications are highly versatile, as users can customize the appearance and style of their avatars align with their specific service purposes and institutional identities.
As the service was introduced at major events, including AI Expo Korea and Smart Tech Korea, it garnered attention from numerous attendees and institutional representatives. It was also recognized for opening up new possibilities in real-time, sign language-based digital accessibility.
Its technological capabilities are also capturing external attention. Its AI-based automatic sign language translation service, ‘HandSignTalkTalk’, won the New Software Product Awards, receiving the Minister’s Award from the Ministry of Science and ICT. Additionally, it strengthened its foundation for expanding into public market by being designated as innovative product by the Public Procurement Service and registered on the Digital Service Procurement System. The company is now actively broadening its horizons for global market entry through introducing its AI sign language technology at both domestic major exhibitions and IT expos in Japan.

An official from KL Cube noted, “Information accessibility in the digital service era is no longer an option but a necessity. We are committed to enhancing information accessibility for digitally underprivileged groups, including individuals with hard of hearing, through an AI sign language technology, creating a digital environment where no one is left behind.”
As a resident company of Seoul Startup Hub Seongsu, KL Cube consistently promotes R&D in AI sign language technology and advances its services by leveraging the city’s startup support programs and networks. Building on this foundation, the company is broadening digital accessibility across both the public and private sectors, contributing to an inclusive digital environment accessible to all.
