[메가경제=양대선 기자] The Global EV Association Network (GEAN) announced on the 9th that it has selected domestic and international companies, organizations, and institutions as recipients of the 2026 GEAN Award in recognition of their contributions to the development of the global e-mobility industry, the realization of sustainable carbon neutrality, and the advancement of future strategic industries.
The award ceremony will be held on March 25 at Jeju Shinhwa World during the opening ceremony of the 13th International e-Mobility Expo.
GEAN stated that the award recipients were finalized through a comprehensive four-stage evaluation process.
The recipients of the 2026 GEAN Award include Korea’s energy solutions company
LS Electric, the Guangzhou Nansha District Government in China, and the Malaysia Electric Vehicle Association. These organizations were recognized for their outstanding achievements in areas such as accelerating electrification and expanding e-mobility infrastructure, developing smart cities, and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles across the ASEAN region.
Meanwhile, the 2026 GEAN Special Award will be presented to the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, The Electronic Times, and the China Automotive Journalists Association. These institutions were highly recognized for their contributions to the growth of the e-mobility industry and for strengthening GEAN’s global network.
GEAN has presented the GEAN Award annually during its General Assembly held alongside the International e-Mobility Expo. Past recipients include Nissan, BYD, Samsung SDI, the ASEAN EV Association, the International Electrotechnical Commission, Hanwha Aerospace, the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, Danfoss, the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Woojin Industrial Systems, CATL in China, and the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand. The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement previously received the GEAN Special Award.
GEAN was officially launched in 2016 following its inaugural general meeting held during the 3rd International Electric Vehicle Expo. Since then, it has played a central role in global e-mobility cooperation governance by hosting its annual general meeting and forums each year alongside the International e-Mobility Expo in Jeju.
Currently, more than 80 associations, organizations, international institutions, and global companies from over 30 countries—including the United States, Japan, and ASEAN nations such as the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam—are members of GEAN. Major global electric vehicle manufacturers, including Renault, Nissan, and BYD, also participate as member organizations.
Meanwhile, the 13th International e-Mobility Expo, where the GEAN Award ceremony will take place, is scheduled to be held from March 24 to March 27 at Jeju Shinhwa World and the surrounding areas of the Jeju Myth and History Theme Park. The four-day event is expected to attract participants from more than 50 countries and provide a global platform to showcase the latest technologies and trends in the rapidly evolving e-mobility industry.
